The building is of traditional construction built with whinstone elevations with red sandstone dressings to window and door openings under a pitched ‘M-plan’ roof clad in slate with central valley gutter. To the east there are additions of brick construction under mono-pitch roofs clad in box profile metal sheeting, providing ancillary accommodation.
The site is bounded by palisade security fencing to the east and west. There is gated access to the site of the estate road to the west.
