Stephen Kemp BSc MRICS

Stephen heads the Commercial and Residential Estate Agency departments in Keswick, where he runs an efficient and thorough service ensuring clients, both vendors and purchasers, have as smooth and trouble free transaction as possible. With in-depth knowledge of the Cumbrian residential market he and his team are able to advise their clients, so as to enable a timely sale and achieve the best possible value for their property while ensuring realistic expectations. Stephen is also a RICS Registered Valuer.

Stephen also acts for clients in a variety of commercial property matters, having a very wide ranging experience of commercial property markets both nationally and within Cumbria.

Having graduated in 1980 with a degree in urban estate surveying, Stephen became a Chartered Surveyor in 1983. He spent 15 years with Boots The Chemists dealing with all aspects of their commercial property portfolio, latterly as their Regional Acquisitions Surveyor negotiating new stores throughout the north of England and Scotland – he acquired the Boots stores in Keswick, Windermere and Penrith amongst others. Subsequently, Stephen worked for national commercial agency firms in Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester acting for major retail clients, developers and businesses. He moved to Keswick in 1996 and joined Edwin Thompson in 1997.

Appreciating greatly his beautiful surroundings in the Lakes, Stephen enjoys outdoor activities such as fell running and mountain walking, cycling, camping and travelling. He is also an active local church member.
