Our client wished to build a new house adjacent to the main farmhouse and did so on one of three new building plots created and serviced as part of the overall scheme.

With stunning views of the Lammermuirs to the north and west the principle rooms, kitchen, lounge and dining room were orientated to take advantage of these with large windows and French doors. With work starting in July 2007 and completed by Christmas, the highly insulated timber frame structure was clad with both local red sandstone and matching coloured render. The clients brief included the use of eco-technologies and after much research a ground source heat pump was installed in tandem with underfloor heating, with over 500 metres of piping below the paddock. Additionally a wood burning stove was also installed in the lounge within an impressive fireplace structure acting as a focal point and providing an additional heat source.
