Once belonging to Earl Grey (foreign secretary at the outbreak of the Great War) and later the Astors, East Learmouth is a well known Borders estate which is situated in a particularly beautiful and private location just a mile south of the River Tweed.

The estate is centred around East Learmouth House, a splendid stone-built period house thought to date from the early 1800s. It retains many fine features but was also thoroughly renovated in the 1980s and today benefits from contemporary comforts such as biomass central heating.
