The scheme is designed to assist homeowners and residential Landlords install energy efficient upgrades to properties including insulation, double glazing, heat pumps, solar PV and storage technologies. Successful applicants will receive a voucher worth a maximum of £5,000 covering two thirds of eligible costs, or up to £10,000 as 100% of eligible costs if the applicant qualifies as low income and certain benefits are being claimed.
New build properties are exempt from the scheme. Applications for work in private rented properties will need to demonstrate that the property is already at an EPC E rating or an exemption has been applied for before the application is made. All work must be carried out by a TrustMark registered installer who is registered for the scheme.
Following acceptance into the scheme, applicants must redeem the voucher and ensure improvements are completed by 31 March 2021.
