Jack Frater

Jack joined Edwin Thompson in January 2021 as an Agricultural Consultant. Jack grew up on the family farm near Alnwick in North Northumberland and has a wealth of practical livestock and arable farming knowledge and experience, having worked on a number of farms in Northumberland. After graduating from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, with a degree in Agricultural Management in 2013, Jack worked as a Farm Business Consultant working with farming clients and estates across Scotland and Northumberland before moving to manage a multifaceted rural Estate in East Lothian.

Based in the Galashiels office, Jack is involved with all aspects of farm and estate management, including overseeing in-hand farming operations, subsidy claims such as Basic Payment and Agri-Environment schemes, the management and administration of Contract Farming Agreements, as well as financial planning and all other associated administrative matters.

In his spare time Jack enjoys rugby and shooting, he is also a committee member for the Glendale Agricultural Society.
