Stuart Eve BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS

Stuart is a Chartered Building Surveyor who recently relocated to his hometown of Maryport after living and working in London, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Dalston. Stuart began his career as a Royal Marine after leaving school, serving in Norway and the Persian Gulf, before returning home to retrain as a builder. He went on to obtain a degree in Building Surveying in Newcastle-upon-Tyne where he worked for various surveying practices before accepting a role lecturing in Surveying at Northumbria University.  After relocating back to Cumbria Stuart ran his own practice before joining Edwin Thompson in January 2017. He accepts the full range of Building Surveying commissions, including residential and commercial building surveys, defect surveys and diagnosis, party wall, dilapidations, design and contract management. His main interest is Heritage and Conservation, and he achieved an MSc in Conservation of the Historic Environment at Reading University in 2013. He regularly provides advice, specifications and management of works to sympathetically repair and thermally upgrade historic buildings as well as preparing heritage reports to assist with the planning process. Stuart loves travelling and is a keen surfer and walker, but mostly enjoys spending time with his family during time away from work.
