Ana Young graduated from SRUC Aberdeen in 2019 with a 2:1 in Rural Business Management BA(Hons). She is currently working towards becoming RICS qualified and is keen to gain experience in all aspects of her work. She grew up in a remote area of the Scottish Highlands where her love for agriculture and field sports began. She spends her spare time out and about with Whinnie, her working cocker spaniel.
Kate is a dual Chartered Rural Surveyor and Rural Planner with Edwin Thompson having joined the firm in 2019. Before joining the firm Kate worked as Land Agent for firms with national coverage, the Forestry Commission and also a range of planning consultant roles. Kate has, most recently, focussed on planning consultancy and has an excellent record in achieving permissions for rural, residential and commercial projects. Kate brings a broad knowledge of land agency and planning matters having worked in a variety of settings throughout Scotland. Kate lives near Peebles, in the Scottish Borders and when away from work can be found renovating properties, fell racing or distance swimming in lochs.
Ali is a graduate rural surveyor who joined the team in November 2019 after graduating from Scottish Rural University College (SRUC) with a 2:1 BA Hons degree in Rural Business Management.
From a young age, Ali had an interest in the agricultural sector through growing up in the countryside and assisting with livestock on a range of holdings in her later years. Realising this was a career she wished to pursue she enrolled in SRUC in 2015. Ali is involved in many aspects of the firm’s work including property management, residential sales, countryside stewardship & agri-environment schemes, mapping, forest and woodland management, utilities and valuation work. She is a member of the South of Scotland Border Valuers Association, a probationary member of SAAVA and currently studying towards her APC.
In her spare time Ali enjoys attending young farmers, keeping fit, being outdoors and embarking on various hill climbs in the borders and highlands.
